One of the worst performers in Idol history is still in it. Bodog odds makers have Sanjaya Malakar at +220 to win American Idol. This is not impossibility with Sirius Radio heavyweight Howard Stern egging his listeners to vote for Sanjaya. With an audience the size of Sterns anything is possible.
Although short on talent Sanjaya seems to be popular among the young ladies. Perhaps it's that dreamy smile or beautiful flowing hair, whatever it is it has sent some people spinning at the possibility of a 2007 win by Malakar. History has shown in the past that typically the best of Idol contestants don't necessarily win, we hope however that the music industry is tapping some of this incredible talent.
Last years' Chris Daughtery was in my opinion one of the best Idol contestants since its beginnings, getting the boot at 4th spot. Chris has turned the industry on their ear with his huge success of the release of his first album. Way to go Chris! It just goes to prove that not everyone with super talent can win the idol competition and perhaps even the worst can win. Wonder what the odds makers will set for Simon Cowells return if Malakar wins the Idol competition.
