Arizona Cardinals vs Green Bay Packers In what can only be billed as the "Somebody's Gotta Win" Bowl, the Arizona Cardinals limp into Lambeau to face the ageless wonder and the Greenbay Packers. The Packers are 2-4 and trying to breathe some new life after an impressive victory over the Dolphins last week. The 1-6 Cardinals seem to be sinking further into the abyss and suffered a humiliating 22-9 defeat against a lame duck Raider's team last week. Both of these teams are looking for direction and perhaps something to salvage. At QB, new blood will take on a playing legend to see weather unripe fruit has more juice than piece past its prime. Green Bay looked good last weekend and put up 34 points utilizing weapons on the ground and in the air. The point that has to be taken away from the 10 point victory was the opponent. The Dolphins can not be used as a fair gauge to measure an offensive prowess, so be careful jumping on the bandwagon. The strong take away from the contest and what can be carried into this week's match against Cardinals is Ahman Green's performance. His ability to run the ball effectively will be the difference is a Packer team putting up more or less than 10 points in the game.
Arizona has issues to deal with. Not the least of which is figuring out how to score more than 9 points as they did against Oakland. Edgerin James has had little success running the ball behind an offensive line that bares the brunt of the blame for Arizona's inability to establish leads early in games. The bad news continues for Arizona as ½ of their dynamic receiving duo will not play again this week, leaving Boldin on his own. The good news is that Green Bay has proven they cannot stop anyone. This should be a great confidence booster for Leinart who as a new dad should have a renewed drive for the win. Arizona +3.5 |
