Online Caribbean Stud

Dubbed the perfect online casino game, Caribbean Stud Poker combines the elements of 5 Card Stud with Slot Machine action. Yes you can actually play a real game of poker and at the same time try for the giant progressive jackpot.

To play Caribbean Stud Poker a player must first have a rudimentary knowledge of poker. Understanding poker hand rankings is all you need to find this exciting casino game a snap! Unlike traditional poker, Caribbean Stud is played solely against the dealer so no worries about bluffing, checking or raising bets.

The Ante:

Like any form of poker the ante is necessary to begin. This is the player's fee for his/her cards, the incentive to play. Typically the ante for Caribbean Stud Poker will start around $5.00 and go as high as $500.00. The Caribbean Poker table is clearly marked and quite similar to that of a Blackjack table. Each player must place his/her ante on the square marked "Ante" to signify to the dealer that he/she is in the game.

Progressive Jackpot Bet:

Typically this bet is always $1.00 and not a necessary bet unless you want to participate in the pool for the Progressive Jackpot. Placing a wager for this pool is like playing slots without the need to pull a handle or push a button. To make this wager, place your $1.00 on the allocated spot so the dealer recognizes you are in the Jackpot pool.

The Deal:

After all antes are placed and progressive jackpot wagers are made the dealer will then deal each player 5 cards face down. Then the dealer will deal himself 4 cards face down and 1 card face up. After the cards are all dealt each player looks to his/her 5 card poker hand to determine whether they think their hand can beat that of the dealers. If a player decides he/she is in the game he will place "his bet to call the dealer" in the spot allocated for this bet. This bet must be exactly twice the amount of the ante bet.

Ex: If your ante bet was $5.00 then your "bet to call the dealer" would be $10.00.

After all the bets are placed the dealer will turn over his cards. The catch here is that the dealer must have a minimum Ace/King in his hand to open. If the dealer can't open the player keeps his bet to open plus he wins his ante. If the dealer does open then the remaining players must show their cards to determine whether they have beaten the dealer's hand. In Caribbean Stud Poker it is worth remembering to always play the progressive jackpot because even though the dealer wasn't able to open you may be eligible for the progressive payouts.

Standard Progressive Payouts

Full House $100.00
4 of a Kind $250.00
Straight Flush 10%

Caribbean Stud Strategy

When playing Caribbean Stud Poker a player should not consider placing a bet to call the dealer without at the very least a pair. In a 52 card deck the probabilities of a pair is every 2.4 hands. Unfortunately in this form of poker there are not a lot of strategies involved so basically just play smart.

Remember the dealer has one card face up so perhaps if you are holding a marginal hand and one that wouldn't qualify for the bonus money look to the dealers face up card. If this card is higher than your marginal pair chances are it would be wise to fold. Caribbean Stud Poker like any other casino game is to enjoy. So when playing at any one of our recommended online casinos always remember to have fun and play smart. Odds are always favoring the casino so good luck and enjoy your online casino experience.
