Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New York Giants

Week 8 is upon us and the Giants of New York are opening the doors of Giants Stadium this Sunday to welcome in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 4-2 Giants are in sole possession of the NFC East's top spot after their sound win against the Cowboys on Monday night. Tampa Bay is on a roller coaster after collecting their second win of the season in dramatic fashion they will still be without their starting QB will be out another week, leaving Brad Gradkowski. The Buccs will need to take advantage of every opportunity against a New York squad that should be offering many more of them in this game.

The G-Men are among the elite in the NFC and look strong behind the running of Tiki Barber. Barber will take his league leading yards from scrimmage against his brother's defensive unit that ranks 30th in rush defense. It is important to know that Tiki is only offered this opportunity when the pass game is working. Where the Giants will have to excel is defense. All-Pro Lavar Arrington will out for the year and defensive end Osi Umeyiora is questionable. This may give Gradkowski the time he needs to get the ball downfield.

If the Buccaneers can keep the game close, they know they have a closer in kicker Matt Bryant. Bryant was true on a 62 yard strike to win the game last week and was later honored by the Tampa mayor with his own "week" in the city. Look for the lesser known Barber (Ronde) to be pumped up for this game. Tiki may have announced his retirement early, but Ronde would love to play spoiler to the MVP candidate's farewell tour. Much like last week the Tampa defense will be key their ability to keep the score manageable. If they can take advantage of chances for point that the Giants will inevitably offer, John Gruden's team should make a game of it.
