Washington Redskins vs. Indy Colts In week 7 the up and down Washington Redskins will travel to Indianapolis to face the undefeated Colts. The Skins are still seething after a loss to the previously regarded lowly Titans, slipping to 2-4 and the 4th spot in the NFC East division. The Colts continue to roll, there closest call coming 2 weeks ago against the same Titans team that earned its first win against Washington. Joe Gibbs is the type of coach that can gain a motivational edge from his squad that could be the factor needed in what is certainly a statistical mismatch. CLICK HERE TO BET USING AN ONLINE CHECK! For the Colts in this game it is important that they balance the offense and that does not mean just spreading the ball around to different receivers. Tony Dungy must make hay with his running game early. Domonick Rhondes and Joseph Addai will again work in tandem to try to keep Washington's defense honest and not ball hawking Peyton Manning's passes. Effective running will allow the Colts 245+ passing yards a game work its magic on the way to 6-0. Peyton and Dungy will test Redskins safties deeps early, look for a play action pass down the sideline for 20+ yards to set a tempo of up the field offense for the game. The Redskins are loaded with talent and many thought that talent would put them in the thick of the hunt for a NFC title and playoff birth. Wide receiver Santana Moss has been the breakout player of the NFC in the early going and is by far veteran Mark Brunell's favorite target. The big story for the Redskins though is Clinton Portis. Portis is game changer and a leader. He recently called up coack Gibbs and his teammates to put more on his shoulders. If Portis can run effectively against a Colts Run D that gave up huge yards on the ground to the Titans, don't expect this one to be a blowout. The best way to defend against Peyton Manning and the Indy offense after all is by keeping them on the sideline. Game Pick: Washington +9.5 |
